Azure & cloud hosting

Reliable Azure hosting for business-critical software

Syngis designs, deploys and manages Microsoft Azure hosting for the software it builds — and for businesses that need secure, reliable cloud infrastructure with ongoing support.

What we provide

Azure infrastructure designed for operational software.

We use the right Azure services for the job — not the most complex setup, but one that gives you reliability, security and visibility.

Azure App Services

Web application and API hosting with managed infrastructure, auto-scaling and simple deployment pipelines.

Azure SQL Database

Managed relational databases with automated backups, point-in-time restore and high availability.

Blob Storage

Reliable, cost-effective storage for images, documents, exports and other business files.

Monitoring and alerting

Application Insights, log analytics, custom dashboards and alert rules so issues are caught before customers notice.

DevOps pipelines

Automated build, test and deployment pipelines with Azure DevOps. Code changes go through a controlled, auditable release process.

Backup and recovery

Automated backup strategies with tested recovery procedures. We don't just configure backups — we verify they work.

Security configuration

SSL certificates, managed identities, network security groups, key vaults and principle-of-least-privilege access control.

API and messaging

Azure Service Bus, API Management and event-driven architecture for reliable integration between systems.

Architecture

We build what the system needs.

Not every application needs a microservices architecture with dozens of Azure services. We design infrastructure that matches the actual scale, risk profile and budget of your system.

For most business-critical e-commerce and operational software, that means a well-configured Azure App Service, a managed SQL database, blob storage, a monitoring stack and a proper CI/CD pipeline.

  • Scaled to actual traffic and usage
  • Documented infrastructure — no black boxes
  • Tested backup and recovery procedures
  • Cost monitoring and resource governance

How we work

Architecture principles that matter.

Reliability first

Business-critical software needs to be up and running. We design for availability, test failure scenarios and have monitoring in place before going live.

Security by default

Encrypted connections, managed identities, key vaults and access controls are configured from the start — not added later.

Managed costs

Azure can become expensive without proper governance. We monitor resource usage, right-size infrastructure and review costs regularly.

Clear ownership

We document what we deploy, how it's configured and how to manage it. You're not dependent on us to understand your own hosting.

Why Azure

The right fit for .NET and SQL Server systems.

Azure is the natural hosting environment for systems built on Microsoft technology. The tooling, integration and managed service quality are well-suited to the kind of business-critical software we build.

Practical advantages

  • Strong .NET and SQL Server alignment

Managed services work seamlessly with the stack we use for application development.

  • UK data residency

Azure has UK South and UK West regions, keeping your data in the UK where required.

  • Compliance and security controls

Azure provides a robust compliance framework suitable for commercial and regulated workloads.

  • Mature DevOps tooling

Azure DevOps gives us controlled, auditable build and release pipelines with minimal overhead.

Ongoing support

We don't just set it up and leave.

Hosting requires ongoing attention. We monitor your systems, respond to issues, manage updates and review costs on a regular basis.

Proactive monitoring

Alerts and dashboards mean we catch issues before they affect users.

Patching and updates

Regular OS, runtime and dependency updates managed as part of the engagement.

Cost reviews

We review resource usage and costs regularly and right-size infrastructure where appropriate.

Incident response

We respond to infrastructure incidents and have a clear process for diagnosis and resolution.

Proof in practice

Reliable foundations in production.

Anonymised examples of the data and hosting foundations we build, secure and support.

Database foundations built to be trusted

Underpins a business now 2nd largest in its UK sector
The problem
Every business-critical system is only as dependable as the database beneath it, where quiet performance problems and data risk can undermine the whole operation.
What we built
We design and maintain the databases behind the systems we build — with SQL-level encryption, automated backups, and hands-on performance tuning using tools such as Query Store to find and resolve issues before they bite.
Why it mattered
Solid, well-tuned data foundations let a business scale with confidence — it has grown to become the second largest in its sector in the UK.

A whole-company ERP, modernised across decades

£50m+ in sales handled over 10 years
The problem
A growing business had outgrown an ageing DOS-based system that could no longer keep pace with how it needed to trade across both retail and trade customers.
What we built
Instead of a risky big-bang rewrite, we modernised it in controlled stages — through every generation of Windows and on to today's cloud and web architecture — as a single system running the entire company. It's now continuously maintained, with AI-assisted tooling helping our engineers understand decades of legacy code faster, and every change still reviewed and owned by people.
Why it mattered
One dependable platform has handled more than £50 million in retail and trade sales over ten years — evolving with the business rather than being thrown away and rebuilt.
